How to Transfer Photos and Videos from Facebook to Google Photos

If you want to quit Facebook, then it is a better idea to keep copies of your photos and videos that you uploaded to Facebook to recollect the good memories of your life later.

The simplest way to transfer your photos and videos from Facebook to Google Photos which is Google’s cloud-based photo storage and sharing service is downloading them to a local file using the Download Your Information option on Facebook and then uploading them to Google Photos. But this is a somewhat tedious process.

Fortunately, as part of the Data Transfer Project (DTP), Facebook has introduced a new cross-platform data migration tool that is now available for worldwide Facebook users to accomplish your goal.

Last year, Facebook signed the DTP with Google, Twitter, and Microsoft to make the process of data transferring between their platforms simpler than before, following the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union (EU).

But before jumping into the steps of transferring data using the above mentioned Facebook’s tool, keep in mind that you can not transfer the photos and videos that others have posted on your timeline or you have been tagged in. You can transfer only the photos and videos that you have uploaded to Facebook.
