How to Unlock Your Android Phone with Your Google Account

Can you imagine a day without your smartphone? 90% will probably say NO as the answer to this question. Because nowadays, smartphone has become an integral part of our day-to-day life. It keeps a large amount of personal information with it. So I think I am not wrong if I say our smartphones know us better than we know ourselves.

But on the other hand, your smartphone is keeping a great deal of information that can be a threat to your privacy if someone has accessed them. Therefore it is important to set up at least the screen lock on your phone.

Though phone lock prevents others from accessing your information, it can also prevent you from accessing your phone too if you forget your PIN, password, pattern or gesture look.

Do not panic if this happens to you. There is a simple way to unlock Android devices with the Google account password.

Unlocking Android device with Google Account Password

Can you remember that when you set up your phone for the first time, you had to enter your Google account login credentials? You would have felt that as an annoying and time-consuming process to do. But this Google account integrating the process with your Android phone will save you when you are unable to access your phone.

Follow the below steps to access your device

Note: If Android version of your device is 4.4 or under then you can try this method

  1. After trying to unlock the device several times, the “UNLOCK VIA GOOGLE” option will appear. Tap on it.
  2. Type your Google account email and its password in the relevant field.

Tap on “SIGN IN” button

Note: Make sure to sign in to the Google account that is connected with your device.

Now your device is unlocked, and you can access it. But this method will reset your lock pattern or code also. So the first thing you have to do when you access your device is set up a new lock code or pattern to secure it.

If you do not remember the login credentials of your Google account, then you have to reset the password of Gmail. Go to the account recovery page of Google and follow their instructions.
